Every year we go to the Rabenberg! With a lot of sunshine, a lot of fun and a great program we trained together for the whole weekend.

Friday afternoon we started. In small groups of two to four people the participants dallyed slowly on the mountain. In front of the hotel the group of new arrivals soon formed up, where they drank something cool against the heat and exchanged plans and information. Move into rooms and have dinner. But we didn't have much time for the hotel buffet, because the first training session was scheduled.

First warm up a round with Budo hockey. Built up in two teams, everyone fought for every goal and it became a hard (and above all fun) game. But the challenge of the day was something completely different: to become the winner in table tennis. With two tops and thirty people you can play many, many rounds of Chinese table tennis. In the end we had an undisputed winner and a jump-off for third place. And a cosy evening on the benches in front of the hotel.

As quiet as the first day had started, so eventful was the next day. The (early) morning began with the fact that the way to the dining room was laid out with gummy bear packs. A crumb trace as with Hänsel and Gretel led the joyfully surprised participants on the way to the buffet. In the training hall more bags were waiting for us, spread all over the floor. We owe the sweet present to one of our teammates, who had submitted an extra request for Gummi Bears to the training management. Of course such requests are gladly fulfilled! In the (shortly afterwards tidied up) training hall we started the day with some lessons about the Uke-Tori behaviour. A morning that not only filled our heads with knowledge, but also the camera with lots of funny pictures.

The training camp also offers an opportunity for the exchange of experiences between participants from the Jiu-Jitsu course and the Arnis course. And so in the morning everyone grabbed the "stick" and let themselves be shown some basic movements from the Arnis area.

The swimming unit in the hotel's indoor swimming pool has now become a tradition. Every year there are new tasks that we have to face in the water. After a relaxed warm-up game with many balls, the real challenge came: to swim for 20 minutes without holding on to the edge, without a break. The rounds were counted on a sponge rubber card, but speed was secondary. What really counted were endurance and sporting behaviour. And in fact we even managed to impress our coaches this year: All thirty participants kept up the full time. An impressive result! And an achievement after which we all deserved the tasty lunch.

Strengthened in this way, we went on to the next unit, for which we were all eagerly awaiting. Every year our organizers come up with something completely different, new and special, and we never know what's coming. Forest run? Mountain bike tour? When we arrived and everyone was there, a team of three coaches welcomed us to the first Flag-Football unit of our lives. Consisting of many individual exercises, we learned within the next hours how to draw flags, catch balls (with greater and lesser success) and which tactics can be applied on the playing field. After that everyone was exhausted, sweaty and some even had a slight sunburn. Fortunately, the last unit of the day took place sheltered in the cool four walls of the training hall. After a little theory about the KU-BO-TAN device (not Kobutan or Kutoban) we could try out the techniques directly on our partner.

Dinner was taken outside that night. The sausage, barbecue and salad were served until the "cultural program" began. The winners received their well-deserved laurels and we reviewed the impressions of the last year and the last days in several films. With many conversations, some card games and with one or the other glass everyone let the day end for a long time.

One last Jiu-Jitsu training session on the last morning on the Rabenberg and then this training camp was over again - although it felt like it had just started. In the feedback round at the end it rained a lot of praise until we all slowly set off - full of anticipation for next year.
